The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal Recipients
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal was created to commemorate the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. I was very proud to be a part of the ceremony awarding these medals to deserving recipients in the riding of Edmonton-Leduc.
Issues: Where your tax dollars go
During 2011-12, the federal government had expenses totaling $271.4 billion. Payments that go directly to persons, to provincial and territorial governments, and to other organizations are called “transfers.” Transfers are the largest category of government spending. They made up about 59 cents of each tax dollar spent ($159.7 billion).

James Rajotte, M.P. today welcomed the new federal budget - Economic Action Plan 2013 – and its continued focus on job creation, economic growth, and long-term prosperity. The Plan, which will see Canada return to balanced budgets in 2015, keeps federal taxes at their lowest level in 50 years.

The first priority of the Government of Canada is to protect Canada and the safety and security of Canadians at home and abroad. Bill S-7 would amend the Criminal Code to ensure that Canada has the tools it needs to combat crime and terrorism and protect its citizens.
